If you’re a 21+ leftist in Cleveland who loves to read, write, and hang out with a group of like minded people, we’re the social club for you. Our values align with leftist politics and we aim to create a community of empathetic, compassionate, engaged individuals who care for each other and those around them. Inclusion and support of minorities, trans folk, the LGBTQIA+ community, solidarity with Palestinians, and the championing of the rights of others are some of Literhotti’s foundational values. Literhotti offers: book club, movie outings, writing circles, community workshops, hiking groups, and more. We don’t view ourselves as just a book club—we are so much more! As a social club, we adapt to what our members want to see from us. While we will always offer multiple meetings every month, we will also change and grow as our members need.

A lot of events for Literhotti require reservations—a headcount is super helpful in making sure everyone has a spot at the table (literally).

No! Payment is optional. If you want to attend only free events, we would love to have you! As long as you attend Literhotti events, you are considered a member.

While most events are free to attend, some events will have a fee attached to them. I find that event fees ensure attendance. I will keep the fees as low as possible. Once you get a like on the payment via Venmo (@mmcivorbowser2019), you’ll know that your spot is secured.

The event fees are only in place to help cover material costs and other event costs. I aim to not make a profit—if there is one, it will be donated to local libraries in the Cleveland area or other nonprofits that focus on literacy, books, and/or writing.

Yes! If you DM, text, or email me proof of donation to your local library or other nonprofit focused on literacy, books, and/or writing that will count toward the event fee. If you can’t afford to donate, let me know and I would be more than happy to make the event free for you.

No, however I appreciate both! The event fee (if listed) is required to pay via Venmo (@mmcivorbowser2019) to attend the event and secure your spot. Optional support is used to grow Literhotti, pay for materials, offest costs, and ultimately ensure that I have the funds to keep Literhotti as low cost as possible. Both support Literhotti in different ways but are equally honored!

Literhotti is an adults (21+) only social club that often meets in the evenings at restaurants and bars/breweries or at my house. Advance notice will be given for events. Hopefully, Literhotti will be a space that gives you a night of rest from the responsibilities of care-taking.

While the location changes for every event, the time is normally in the evenings. We have historically meet at around 7:00pm at a restaurant or brewery/bar in or around the Cleveland area. We also meet at my house. In this economy, going out for every meeting creates burnout—both financially and emotionally. This may change depending on the event type and will be clearly stated on the event page.
